The branch in the east
Saint-André, the gateway to the East.
In the heart of Saint-André, our branch is the ideal starting point for the whole east coast. The road up to Salazie begins a stone's throw away: waterfalls, Hell-Bourg and the greenest cirque on the island are all within easy driving distance. To the south, Bras-Panon and Saint-Benoît open up the volcano road via the Plaine des Palmistes.

Setting off from Saint-André
The branch serves Saint-André, Bras-Panon and the whole east. It is the most direct way to the cirque of Salazie on the RD48, and a good starting point for Saint-Benoît and then the road across the Plaines. Need to arrive or leave somewhere else? You can return the vehicle to another MultiAuto branch, the airport included.
Three routes from the branch
The drives our Saint-André team recommends most often, ready to go:
🗺️ Salazie and Hell-Bourg (the star half-day)
The RD48 starts a few minutes from the branch: one waterfall after another, the Voile de la Mariée, then Hell-Bourg, listed among the most beautiful villages in France. Allow about 45 minutes for the climb, and twice that if you stop for photos.
🗺️ The vanilla road (a morning for food lovers)
Saint-André is vanilla country: tours around the local vanilla plantation, then the Colosse Tamil temple, one of the most colourful on the island, and a break on the east coast. All within a few kilometres.
🗺️ To the volcano through the Plaines (the big day out)
Down to Saint-Benoît, then up the RN3: Plaine des Palmistes, Plaine des Cafres, and the volcano road as far as Pas de Bellecombe. The great classic of the east, straight from the branch.
When should you choose this branch?
Choose Saint-André if you are staying in the east, in Bras-Panon, Salazie or Saint-Benoît, or if your trip starts with the cirques: you save yourself the drive through Saint-Denis. Arriving on a Sunday? Collect at the airport (7 days a week) and return the car here at the end of your stay; returning to a different branch is possible.
