All our rentals include the Basicpackage: third-party liability and protection against theft or damage, with the excess set for the vehicle category. From there, four levels let you reduce, or remove, what remains payable by you. Here is the full comparison, with the real figures.

The daily price falls as the rental gets longer, and depends on the vehicle category:

Excesses by vehicle category
The excess is the maximum amount you pay in the event of a claim. It is held as a pre-authorisation (not charged) on your bank card at pick-up, along with a €100 fuel deposit.

Which package for which stay?
Town and coast, experienced driver: the Basic package is often enough; add the Glass + puncture option if you plan to take the Plaines road or the Coastal road, where flying gravel is not unusual. Mountain roads and cirques: the Comfort package is the best balance: excess halved, zero excess on glass and tyres, and passengers covered. Total peace of mind, family or upmarket vehicle: Serenity removes or caps the excess and even covers the underbody and roof.

On a rental of 10 days or more, packages are capped (maximum 20 days charged): Serenity protection then works out at a few euros a day on average, often the best deal for a family tour of the island.

Frequently asked questions
Is insurance compulsory to hire with MultiAuto?
The Basic protection (third-party liability + theft and damage with an excess) is automatically included in every rental: you are always insured. The Essential, Comfort and Serenity packages are optional extras that reduce or remove the excess.
What happens with glass damage on the Basic package?
With Basic, glass and tyres remain your responsibility. The Glass + puncture option (from €2.50/day depending on duration and category) covers them with no excess, without changing package.
Does the Serenity package really remove all excess?
It removes it on the Mini, Economy and Compact categories (€0) and caps it on the other categories: €250 from Compact Premium to MPV, €500 for 7-seat MPV and Minibus. The exact amount is shown when you book.
Are accessories covered by the insurance?
No: whatever level of protection you choose, accessories (GPS, child seats, etc.) are not included in the insurance and remain your responsibility.
