A tradesperson going from site to site, a shopkeeper making deliveries, an association clearing out its premises, a caterer working across two towns: on Réunion, business van needs all share one thing, the vehicle has to be there when it is needed, at the right load volume, without tying up your cash. Rental does exactly that. Here is how to choose, with the pointers our teams give island businesses every week.
One-off or recurring: two different approaches
For a one-off need, a trade show to set up, a December delivery peak, an exceptional job, hiring by the day or by the week is unbeatable: you pay for the use, servicing and assistance are included, and you hand the vehicle back as soon as the need passes. For a recurring need, tell us your pattern: a longer or renewed rental can be negotiated, and you keep the freedom to change load volume with the season, which a vehicle you have bought never allows.
The right load volume for your line of work
The golden rule: size the van on what you actually carry, not on “just in case”. A van that is too big burns more fuel and parks less easily in town.
- Compact van 3-4 m³, city deliveries, small equipment, local rounds. Drives like a car and fits into multi-storey car parks.
- Panel van 6-7 m³, tradespeople (plumbing, electrics), bulky equipment, small furniture deliveries.
- Panel van 10-12 m³, stock transfers, events work, light office moves.
- Panel van 15 m³, large loads on a regular basis, moving business premises.
- 17 m³ with a tail lift, heavy loads (white goods, machinery, light pallets): the tail lift saves backs and avoids disputes.
- Freezer van 12 m³, caterers, restaurants, chilled and frozen goods: above and below zero, essential in our climate.
Standard category B licence, unlimited mileage, one invoice
All our vans, the 17 m³ included, stay under 3,5 tonnes: a standard category B licence is enough for all your staff. Unlimited mileage is included, which really counts on Réunion, where a north-south round soon adds up to 150 km. And on the admin side, everything fits on one clear invoice per rental, with the itemised breakdown: your accounts department will thank you. For a quote, the quickest way is to go through online booking or to call the branch closest to your business directly.
💡 Our MultiAuto tip
For recurring needs, book your slots ahead over the busy periods (December, the start of the school year, long weekends): vans go quickly. One call is enough to set a schedule with the branch, and if your load volume varies, we adjust the vehicle from one rental to the next.
Collection as close as possible to your sites
Four branches cover the island: Sainte-Clotilde for the north, Saint-André for the east, Saint-Paul for the west and Roland Garros airport 7 days a week. Returning to a different branch is possible, handy when the job finishes at the other end of the island. For a private house move, see our guide Which van for a house move?
Frequently asked questions
Can a van be hired in the company's name?
Yes. The rental is drawn up in the company's name, with one invoice per rental for your accounts. Have your Kbis registration extract or your billing details ready, along with the driver's licence and a bank card for the deposit.
Is mileage really unlimited for businesses?
Yes, just as on all our vehicles: run your rounds and your trips back and forth with no extra charge per kilometre.
Do you need an HGV licence for the 17 m³?
No: all our vans stay under 3,5 tonnes, so a standard category B licence is enough, including for the 17 m³ with a tail lift.
Do you offer regular or long-term van rental?
Yes, tell us your pattern (weekly, seasonal, a long site job): we will set a schedule and the right load volume with you, branch by branch.
